Many of us are at least somewhat informed about the impending issues that are facing our world today, but most of us are not given the desire, tools, or support to explore creative suggestions and solutions. So why is sustainability such a buzz word these days? What does it mean? There have been so many definitions out there that many people have difficulty understanding what it is. However, just like reality, we each have our own idea about the world. We encourage you to define what it is to you as an individual and to you as part of a larger whole. Some key words that may help you define sustainability include: collective effort, commitment, vitality, resilience, stewardship, future generations, equitable distribution, peace, relationships, connections, community.
