The
US Partnership. USPDESD
is a partnership of individuals, organizations, and institutions
in the United States dedicated to the UN Decade of Education
for Sustainable Development (2005-2014). As of May 2005, The
US Partnership consists of 200+ organizations that contain
close to 1 million young citizens (and adults) activated in
the sustainability movement (intersection of environment,
economy, education, & equity). The vision of the US Partnership
is to show that sustainable development can be fully integrated
into education and learning in the United States while not
homogenizing disparate interest groups. The US Partnership's
mission is to leverage the UN Decade to foster education for
sustainable development within the U.S as well as abroad.

YouthXChange.
YouthXChange
is a portal and educational packet created through UNESCO,
UNEP, META, and Consumers International. It was brought about
as a guide for young people on sustainable consumption patterns
and lifestyle. Through YouthXChange, UNEP and UNESCO try to
show young people that it is possible for all of us to translate
our aspirations for a better world into everyday actions.

Cloud Institute was created in response to the growing need
for educational materials and professional development focused
on sustainability. It is dedicated to the vital role of education
in creating awareness, fostering commitment, and guiding actions
toward a healthy, secure and sustainable future for ourselves
and future generations.

is an innovative non-profit financial service organization
with a long and successful history of assisting individuals
and projects (both non-profit and for-profit mission-driven
organizations) to meet their financial goals. Their mission

Schuylkill Center. Is
an educational center oasis designed to promote, through environmental
education, the preservation and improvement of our natural environment
by fostering appreciation, understanding and responsible use
of the ecosystem; by disseminating information on current environmental
issues; by encouraging appropriate public response to environmental
problems and also to maintain the facilities of The Schuylkill
Center and conserve its land for the purpose of environmental

the opportunity to be active, knowledgeable and conscientious
young investigators by fostering a keen understanding of the

considering only the boundaries of safety and ethical behavior

collaboration in the achievement of their missions.

is a far-reaching and complex undertaking. Its conceptual basis,
socio-economic implications, and environmental and cultural
connections make it an enterprise, which potentially touches
on every aspect of life. The overall goal of the Decade
is to integrate the values inherent in sustainable development
into all aspects of learning to encourage changes in behavior
that allow for a more sustainable and just society for all. |
